How to Install Service Uploader

These steps are for Installing the Retention Pro service uploader on your server/host computer. Retention Pro does not need to be installed on individual computers/devices, only the server/host computer.

Make sure you are on the server/host computer. 

You can clarify this by confirming

  • It’s the main server that all your other computers are connected to

  • It’s where the main installation was done for your point of sale

  • It's also the computer when your point of sale company needs to work on the system

Once you are logged in..

  • Click on DATA in the top bar

  • Click on “+Add Datasource” at the top right

 

  1. Type the name of your Point of Sale, then click CONNECT underneath the logo

2. Once on the next page, click the download button

3. This will download a file called “myshopmanagersetup.msi” 
The downloaded file needs to be opened and will display in different locations depending on which browser you use.

  • Google Chrome: It will be in a bar on the bottom left of the browser window.
  • Mozilla Firefox: You will have to click Save File, then click on the down arrow in the top right side of the browser window.

  • Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer: Click on the down arrow in the top right side of the browser window and then click Open File
  • Older versions of Internet Explorer: There will be a “Run” and “Save” button towards the middle of the screen

Now that you have downloaded the installer, you need to click on it and run it.


You will see “Welcome to the MyShopManager Setup Wizard”

If you get the .NET Framework error attempting to install, refer to this guide

 

Within the setup wizard, click Next

Click Next: Don’t change anything

Click next again.

Now the computer may ask if it’s okay for this app to make changes

You MUST click YES

Once you see “MyShopManager has been successfully installed” the installation is complete.

Now we await successful connection, this may take up to a minute to start. 

If you have any concerns beyond this point, please contact Support. Your data should update within the next several hours.
