This article is for connecting Retention Pro with the Vast system. This is a local desktop version and NOT Vast Online.
Establishing a connection with VastDesktopAPI

Navigate to the data tab in your CRM.

Click on DATA SOURCES.

Click on “+Add Data Source” in the top right

Type in VastDesktopAPI to locate it in the shop management system list.

Click [Connect].

Enter your VastAPI key.

Enter your [Host Port] if applicable.

Click [Save and Test].
How do I obtain my VastDesktop API key?

The Vast implementation team will be able to assist you with the following:

Ensuring you are on the most up-to-date version of Vast POS (they will upgrade you for free if not).

Downloading the Vast API client onto your machine.

Once the API is downloaded on your machine they will be able to supply you with your API key.
Please note that the Vast API client is a paid service through Vast. Your Retention Pro product specialist will help coordinate a call with you and the Vast implementation team, so you can obtain your API key and establish connection.

If you have a firewall your IT team will need to open a port in order for Retention Pro to establish a connection using the API key supplied to you by Vast.
