The Retention Pro App can be a great way to keep in touch and see how things are going in your shop while you are “on the go” and we understand that sometimes this may be when you are outside of the country.
The Retention Pro App (called MyShopManager in the app store) is coded to only work with US based connections and will not work with international internet connections. This means it could work under a couple of different situations but it is not guaranteed to.
The two ways you could access it would be through your Resort/Hotel’s Wi-Fi or by utilizing a VPN.
VPN stands for "Virtual Private Network" and will allow you to establish a protected network connection when using public networks.
First, if you are staying at a Resort/Hotel that is part of a chain or management group that is U.S. based or has U.S. locations then their Wi-Fi may actually be a U.S. supplied Wi-Fi connection. It is always worth asking to see if they may be providing U.S. supplied Wi-Fi; if they are then you should be able to use their Wi-Fi to access the App as normal.
If the place you are staying does not have a U.S. supplied Wi-Fi connection then you would need to use a VPN program to use the App. A VPN will allow you to create a protected connection that is coded for the U.S. through an international internet connection.
