You will see a QR Code on all mailers. The QR Codes are unique to each mail piece and each customer. So, no 2 QR Codes will be the same.
Why do we put a QR code on mail?
A QR Code is used to uniquely identify any customer and mail piece they received. This allows BOLT ON Technology to effectively track the actual income driven from a specific mail piece.
When a customer brings a mail piece into the shop, you should then scan the QR code with your mobile device. This tracks the mailer list as category Postal Tracking Scans. It allows you to see which customers brought in the mailer and the value of the RO associated when the customer returned with it. This value is listed under tracking as Postal Tracking Scan Spending in $1000s.
How do I scan the QR Code?
All Android and IOS Devices have a variety of QR Scanners either built in or available for free or purchase on associated app stores. You simply need to download the QR Code Reader of your choice and follow the on screen prompts to scan.
The QR Code isn't scanning?
If for any reason the QR Code does not scan you can click Mark as Scanned on the customer's profile.
To do so, you will need to search for the recipient by name in Retention Pro. Click their name in the search results to go to their profile and scroll to the bottom to Marketing History. Click Direct Mail. You can then find the name of the mailer the customer has brought in and click the blue Mark as Scanned Button. This will track the mail piece the same as scanning the QR Code.

QR Code on Thank You Letter
QR Code on the Thank You Letter works differently. The QR Code on the Thank You Letter does not allow a shop to scan for tracking. When BOLT ON Technology receives the customers survey via letter mail, it gets scanned into Retention Pro system. The QR code identifies the customer at the shop. This QR code allows us to receive it anonymously from the customer while ensuring we can identify which customer brought it in.
