Tracking and Changing an Inspection Status

How to view and change an inspection workflow status in NextGear

Things To Note

  • You can now create, view and edit your Next Gear inspections from any workstation, tablet, or device with a web browser

How To

  1. Open a web browser and go to  nextgear.boltontechnology.com  

    1. This is the main log in page for the Next Gear application

    2. Enter your Cell Phone number into the text field with the mobile device icon

      1. Select the Send Access Code button

      2. You will receive an Access Code via text message and email to the phone number and account email that was provided

      3. Enter the Access code in the provided text field

      4. To stay logged into your account select the checkbox provided

      5. Select the Sign in button to proceed

  2. Select the Inspections option from the header at the top of the Next Gear application

    1. Your shop's inspections will be listed on the Inspection view

    2. This view gives you the basic information about an inspection

      1. Customer name, vehicle type, type of inspection, general picture of detail health showing number of points in each color (red, yellow, and green)

      2. From this screen you can see the current status of all of your inspections denoted by the blue text box located to right of the inspections general information

      3. To View a specific inspection's workflow

        1. Select the inspection to view

        2. Select the blue text field under the customer and vehicle information

          1. You can see the progress and times from this view

            1. The Waiting Status means the inspection has been created but not started yet

            2. It moves to In Progress status after the inspection is started by filling out an inspection point

            3. Once the inspection is completely filled out with notes/recs/pictures and checkboxes it will move into the Complete status

            4. If you share an inspection with a customer it will move into the Shared status

            5. You can see that a customer has viewed their digital multipoint inspection once the status has changed to VIEWED BY CUSTOMER

            6. When the customer is ready to checkout the inspection will be in the Checkout phase

            7. After checkout the inspection will be Closed

          2. To manually change the inspection status

            1. Select the status you would like to move this inspection into

            2. Select the x in top right corner of the status view

            3. You can confirm the status has been changed by reviewing the blue text box under the customer/vehicle information
