Start Inspection Workflow

Things To Note

• You can now create, view and edit your Next Gear inspections from any work station, tablet or device with a web browser

• The Next gear application will fill in vehicle data for you by submitting a clear picture of the license plate

How To

1. Open a web browser and go to  nextgear.boltontechnology.com  

   1. This is the main log in page for the Next Gear application

   2. Enter your Cell Phone number into the text field with the mobile device icon

      1. Select the Send Access Code button

      2. You will receive an Access Code via text message and email to the phone number and account email that was provided

      3. Enter the Access code in the provided text field

      4. To stay logged into your account select the checkbox provided

      5. Select the Sign in button to proceed

         1. Select your shop location by selecting the corresponding button

         2. To Add a new location select the add location button

      6. Proceed to the next step of this page below

   3. To create an account see Create an Account

1. Select the Inspections link from the header at the top of the Next Gear application

   1. Select the + button from the bottom right corner of the application

   2. From the Vehicle Search window view

      1. To Decode a License Plate via picture:

         1. Select the camera icon button

         2. From the Select An Image page view

            1. To take a new picture select the camera icon button

               1. Take a clear picture of the License plate to decode. The Next Gear Application will input the decoded data

               2. Select Ok to accept or Retry to try again

            2. To select a picture from your device

               1. Select the Browse button

               2. Select the proper path of the picture

               3. Select the photo you would like to decode

      2. To Start an Inspection manually via search, select the Advanced search link from the menu

         1. Enter the name, phone number, or license plate in the search field

         2. Select the magnifying glass 🔍 to return search values 

         3. Select the corresponding radio button under the customer and next to the vehicle you wish to inspect

         4. Verify the customer and vehicle information is correct

         5. Select the Next button

            1. Select the radio button that corresponds with the inspection you would like to start

            2. Select the Next Button

               1. Your Inspection is now visible and ready to be started
