How to select Maintenance Recommendations for your clients next appointment

Things To Note

  • You can now create, view and edit your Next Gear inspections from any work station , tablet or device with an internet browser

How To

  1. Open a web browser and go to  nextgear.boltontechnology.com  

    1. This is the main log in page for the Next Gear application

    2. Enter your Cell Phone number into the text field with the mobile device icon

      1. Select the Send Access Code button

      2. You will receive an Access Code via text message and email to the phone number and account email that was provided

      3. Enter the Access code in the provided text field

      4. To stay logged into your account select the checkbox provided

      5. Select the Sign in button to proceed

        1. Select your shop location by selecting the corresponding button

        2. To Add a new location select the add location button

      6. Proceed to Step 2 of this page below

    3. To create an account see Create an Account

  2. Select the Inspections link from the header at the top of the Next Gear application

    1. Your shop's inspections will be listed on the Inspection view

    2. This view gives you the basic information about an inspection

      1. Customer name, vehicle type, type of inspection, general picture of detail health showing number of points in each color (red, yellow, green)

      2. Review your shop information

      3. For a more detailed view or to edit the inspection select the inspection you would like to view.

        1. The Inspection status is located in the blue text field under the customer and vehicle information

        2. These statuses change as you move through the inspection workflow

        3. Once the inspection status moves into the Shared status the Inspection Ready For Checkout Button will be available

        4. To move the inspection into the Shared status you can share the inspection or manually set the status

          2. To Manually change an Inspection status see Manually Change An Inspection Status

        5. Once the status of the inspection has been changed

        6. Select the Inspection Ready For Checkout button

          1. From the Ready For Checkout View

          2. Under the Odometer, Technician and Service Advisor text fields

          3. Find the Next Recurring Maintenance header

          4. Select the month interval (3/6/9 mos) you would like to schedule your clients recurring maintenance

          5. Your Inspection Recommendations will be visible by by point title on the check out view

          6. If your customer chooses to get your recommended service performed today

            1. Select the button next to the Service Performed Today. Don't Schedule Appointment text

            2. Now the selected performed services will not carry over when we schedule the next appointment

          7. Select the check mark button in the bottom right hand corner to schedule the remaining Recommendations for the date term you specified earlier
