How to Scan and Decode License Plates or VIN Numbers in Mobile Manager Pro

Things To Note

  • Decoding is the fastest and most efficient way to complete vehicle information data entry.

  • When a vehicle is decoded, you may see multiple trim options to choose from.

  • Decoding may fail if vehicle data has not yet been updated in the CarFax or DMV databases.

How To

  1. Open the desired work order in Mobile Manager Pro

  2. Navigate to the vehicle tab for that work order

  3. To scan and decode VIN, select barcode icon next to VIN field

    1. Scan VIN barcode and decode will occur automatically

    2. If existing VIN information is detected, Mobile Manager Pro will ask to confirm if you want to replace that data.

  4. To decode a manually entered VIN, type in the VIN, then open the options menu in the top right and select Decode VIN.

  5. To scan and decode a license plate, select the camera icon next to the license field

    1. Take photo of license plate and decode will occur automatically

HINT: For a clearer photo, hold the device with one hand to reduce shaking. Start with the camera close to the object, then slowly move back.
