A quick listing of some the most frequently asked questions regarding Mobile Manager Pro.

How do I change or add a user on the Mobile Manager Pro tablet?

Assigned users list originates from the shop’s management system. Service Writers and Technician list. 

  1. Open Mobile Manager Pro on desired tablet. Use the top left menu options and select User.
    1. If a user is already assigned, instead of User it will display the logged in user’s name
  2. Use the drop down menu to assign the user desired for the tablet
    1. If desired, a profile picture may be taken for the user with the  ‘Take Profile Picture’ option
  3. Once assigned, select OK to return to Work In Progress
    1. Using the top right menu options, if you selected a technician, you would then go to the right menu which is the three dots in the top right and in display you'll see there is an Estimate, Ro and Invoice. Remove the check on invoice if technicians do not need to do anything or can do nothing to an invoice.  Then at the bottom where it says "filter by technician" change that to the technician you just assigned the tablet to so, when you click okay, the only thing that will appear on the tablet face will be the Estimates and Ro's for that technician. 

          

In my shop we don't use estimates. Can I set the tablet to start Ro's?

  •  Mobile manager Pro only starts as an estimate, select the right menu then select Convert to Repair Order.

I've taken a picture under a labor line or a part line on the work order. I can't find that picture anywhere in Mitchell. What can I do with that picture?      

  • There are two things you can do with that picture.
    • One would be to open the picture on that labor line, part line, or note line. Right-click on the picture and up on the top right you'll see a texting balloon. When you click on that texting balloon it would show the customer cell phone number.  You can share it to the customer or you can remove the cell number showing there and type in the number that you wish to send it to; like your shops SMS number or your service advisor cell phone.
    • The second thing you can do is open an inspection when you're on the miscellaneous technician note line as an inspection point. You would be able to click the camera button and up in the top right import from gallery. Then you'd have a way to share the picture through the inspection with the customer. Remember, that picture would be stored for the future at any time you wish to look at that picture again. 

  How do I open Mobile Manager Pro on my tablet?

  •   Look for the Orange 🔸 Mobile Manager Pro Icon and click on it.

How do I look up a Customer on my tablet Mobile Manager?

  • From the work in progress page select the plus sign. You should see start new order and a search line “Search by Customer Name”. Also, at the end of the line, you should see a small drop down arrow; if you select that it will give you 3 other search items.

How do I find any repair information?

  • Repair information can be found in two places. 

    • Under the vehicle tab click the right menu and then Repair Information. If your tablet shows a message that you need to select at least one repair; exit to the WIP page, select the left menu, click settings, then scroll down to “Repair Information” and check if your shop has credentials for ProDemand, ShopKey, or AllData.

    • Also, through the Order tab, select the right menu and at the top of list is “AllData Repair”.

How do I see a Job on my Tablet as a Service Writer/Advisor?

  • From the Work in Progress page scroll and select the order your looking for
    • If you have too many to scroll thru click the Magnifying Glass icon on the top line and type the customer last name then select Magnifying Glass on the keypad.

How can I change the size of what I see on the work in progress?

    • From the work in progress screen select the right menu.  Then select View, from there you will be able to select compact or expanded. 

A tech broke his tablet and I purchased a new one how do I get the mobile manager program back on the tablet?

  • If you are replacing a broken tablet there is no fee to install the program but if you were adding  an additional tablet you would need to purchase an activation license.
  • Make sure that the tablet is on your secured Wi-Fi at your shop.  Then, on the tablet, go to the Chrome tab.  On the URL line enter the following: the14.me/mm
    • Download and run that program following all the prompts and then scan the QR code
  • Once you have reached the work in progress page select the left menu.  Click on settings and then scan setting code. The QR code is found on your Mitchell host in Report Pro under Settings and then mobile config.  This code can only be scanned by your Mitchell host computer. 

Where do I access Pro demand Shopkey pro or Alldata repair lookup information?

  • In an Estimate or repair order 
    • Go to the Vehicle tab and click the right menu, then select repair information. When selected this should take you to the selected location.  Now login using your credentials, don't forget to check the little box that says remember me so you won't have to enter that information again.  Now you will go to the VIN area inside Pro demand or shop key Pro and use control V to paste the copied VIN number into the VIN location and say use this vehicle. 

When I select the repair information under the vehicle tab it tells me that I must select one repair information from the Mobile manager settings screen. How do I do that? 

  • From the work in progress screen select the left menu, three flat lines, and click on settings. Then scroll down until you see repair information; there will be three check boxes Pro demand, Shopkey Pro or Alldata. Check the ones that you have a license for.
    • If you select two then when you select the repair information from the vehicle tab it will show you both where you can select the one you want to go to.

I have an existing customer came in today with a new vehicle how do I add that vehicle into the tablet for Mitchell?

    • On your work in progress screen enter the customers last name. Then select the magnifying glass to the right of the letter L to search for the customer.  Once you find the customer select the customers name and the bar to the left will change color. Then select the right menu and select new vehicle, this will start a brand new estimate under that customer's name which will allow you to go to the vehicle Tab and fill out the information.

Sometimes I lose pictures and information that I wrote when I'm writing up a customer in the parking lot why?

    • The tablets are only as good as your Wi-Fi coverage area. If you should step one foot outside your Wi-Fi any information that you continue to enter in your tablet from that point will be gone. When you step back into your Wi-Fi zone the tablet should be connected to 2.4 G Wi-Fi and again the tablet should remain inside your Wi-Fi coverage. Your technicians should not take the tablets with them when they do a test drive, they should remain in the Wi-Fi coverage area. 

I was told I could do videos but I can't seem to find the video button.

  • Videos can be recorded from an inspection. Once you have selected the camera icon underneath the red. Still pictures are unlimited, you can take as many as you need, videos can only be 10 seconds long but you can do several videos as well.
