How to create and edit your message templates for Quick Message in Message Manager Pro

Things To Note

  • Quick Message sends a text message to the most recent customer you accessed in your Shop Management System, rather than the customer currently highlighted in Message Manager Pro. It is important to verify that your messages are directed to the correct recipient.

  • Wild Cards, terms in brackets [ ], are placeholders that automatically insert information from your Shop Management System database into your prewritten messages. This can include details such as the customer’s name, appointment dates, and other relevant data, ensuring your communication is personalized and efficient.

  • In addition to allowing you to create custom templates, Bolt on Technology has provided a selection of prebuilt message templates in Message Manager Pro. These templates can be used as is or modified to reflect the unique personality of your shop.

How To

  1. From Message Manager Pro

    1. Select the Settings tab from the top menu.

    2. Select the Template Builder box on the right side of the menu.

      1. A window will appear that will contain the current Message templates, along with the options to add, edit, or delete these templates.

  2. From the Message Templates screen

    1. To add a new message template, click Add in the upper left.

      1. Add the title and body of the message to the template and add wildcards through the dropdown menu labelled Wildcards. See list of wildcards and their effects below.

      2. Click OK to save this template to your list of selectable templates for Quick Message.

    2. To edit any of the existing templates either double click any template or select one and click on the Edit button above.

      1. From here a window will appear with options to edit the selected template.

      2. Click OK  to save your changes or Cancel  to discard.

    3. To delete any existing template, simply select the template you would like to delete and click on the Delete button above.

      1. A prompt will appear asking you if you are sure you want to delete this template, select Yes to confirm.

  3. Once you have finished, click the X in the upper right corner to close the window. You can then start using your newly created Quick Message templates in Message Manager Pro!

 

Wildcard Definitions:

[AppointmentAddToCalendarLink] Adds a link for the customer to insert their appointment into a calendar app within their smart phone.

[AppointmentCategory] Chooses category from your Shop Management System such as Lube Oil Filter Change.

[AppointmentDate] Pulls the appointment date and time from the Shop Management System.

[AppointmentNote] Adds any notes in the appointment to the message.

[CompanyOrCustomer] Automatically places the customer or company name in the message.

[CustomerName] Pulls the current customer’s full name from the document in use.

[CustomerNameFull] Pulls the current customer’s full name from the document in use.

[OptOut] When used in a text message, this allows the customer a response that will prevent them from receiving texts from you in the future.

[ReplyToConfirm] Allows the customer to type the letter “C” to confirm the text message.

[ShopName] Your shop name will fill in where this is placed.

[ShopPhone] Your shop phone number will fill in where this is placed.

[Vehicle] Customer’s vehicle information will fill where this wildcard is placed in your message.
