How to configure my Email Settings in Report Pro
Things To Note

Each machine is configured separately, you can use the same email or different ones on each workstation.

Email is sent via SMTP through your email provider. Some servers won’t save these emails to your Sent folder, and Report Pro cannot change this. You can instead use your computer’s default email client.

Using the DEFAULT EMAIL CLIENT option does not allow for email addresses entered in the To field of the email to be saved back to the customer record in your Shop Management system

If using GMail or Google Business email accounts you must have "Less Secure Apps Access" turned on in order for this to work
How To

Open your Report Pro software

Using the default email client on your computer (Outlook, Windows Mail, etc..)

Select the Settings tab from the Report Pro software header

Select the Email Settings button from the Report Pro software header

From the Report Pro pop-up window
-
Check box Use Default Mail Instead (Outlook, Windows Mail, etc...)

Select the Send Test Email button
-
If you want a default message to accompany that email, fill out the Default Email Body field from the Email Settings menu

Select the Save & Close button on the left
-

Using SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) (Gmail, Yahoo, Verizon, Aol, Comcast, etc...)

Select the Settings tab from the Report Pro software header

Select the Email Settings button from the Report Pro software header

From the Report Pro pop-up window

If Settings are blank continue below

Select the Email Setup Wizard button
NOTE: If the automated wizard does not work, enter the host, port (and if it is a secure connection), email address, and password for your email. If not known, these should be available from your email provider.

From the Email Setup Wizard pop-up window

Fill in Display Name (Example: Bolt On Technology)

Fill in Email Address (Example: support@boltontechnology.com)

Fill in your Password and retype password

Select the Next button
-
Email settings will be applied

Select the Send Test Email button

If you want a default message to accompany that email, fill out the Default Email Body field from the Email Settings menu

Select the Save & Close button on left

Prompt for customer email on Invoice load
Use this when capturing customer emails is a high priority for you. It is a strong reminder that prompts you or your service advisor that capturing email addresses is a must for your business. When you send an email through Report Pro and no address is on file, you’ll be prompted to save the email address to the customer record (unless “Use Default Mail Client Instead” is selected).

Check box next to Prompt for customer email on invoice load at the bottom of the screen

Send CC to shop's email address
This does not apply when “Use Default Mail Client Instead” is selected. If your email provider doesn’t save SMTP mail to your Sent folder, use this option to CC the shop’s email address instead. Using this option will copy the email address configured to send from.

Select the Settings tab from the Report Pro software header

Select the Email Settings button from the Report Pro software header

Check the box next to Send cc to Shop's email address from bottom of the screen
