10DLC Registration must be completed for all new subscriptions or additional locations before any text messaging can be utilized.
What is 10DLC?
A2P 10DLC is a registration for your outbound texting number that links it to your business. Phone carriers are requiring all businesses to register their phone number to send traffic to users in an effort to reduce spam texting. Basically the registration allows the phone carriers to confirm that your outbound texting phone number is being used by a legitimate business for the purpose of communicating with your customers.
If your outbound texting number is not registered the phone carriers can/will block all messaging attempts from your texting number; this means that our system would still be attempting to send out messages but on your customer's end they would never receive them.
How Do I Register?
Once you have started a new subscription with us we will assign a new phone number to you for the purpose of outbound texting. We will need you to submit a few pieces of information to us so we can register this number to your business as there are items the phone carriers request that we would not already have on file for you.
When you are logged in to Retention Pro you will need to click on the Support option at the top of your screen.
From the Support Portal select the tile for Bolt On Technology
This will provide you with ticket type options, you will want to select the option for 10DLC Phone Registration.
With the Registration ticket open, now you will simply need to fill in the required fields which will allow us to submit the registration on your behalf.
How long will the registration take?
Unfortunately we don't have too much control or insight over how long the registration will take to process since the phone carriers use a third party for processing the registrations. Rest assured that we will submit your registration as soon as we are able and will provide you with an update when one is available.
We do generally estimate that the registration can take 1-2 weeks but it can take longer depending on if the initial registration is unsuccessful. This is why it is very important that the information provided to us on the registration ticket is as accurate and complete as possible.
